As an Associate at Roo Partners, Simon Velez Angel supports search engagements for private equity and growth equity-backed companies, with a focus on market-mapping, candidate identification, and relationship development across South Florida, the Caribbean, and Latin America. He is based in Miami.

Prior to joining Roo, Simon spent over four years at Greentech Renewables Miami, managing accounts across the region and building deep expertise in solar and electrical distribution. His earlier experience includes roles with the Real Madrid Foundation, the Miami HEAT, and Nike Boston.

Simon played collegiate soccer at Suffolk University in Boston, captaining the program his senior season. He has since founded and continues to run an amateur men’s soccer club in Miami, managing its operations, logistics, and community from the ground up. Originally from Colombia, he remains closely connected to Bogotá and brings firsthand fluency in the markets and relationships that define Roo’s Latin American network.
