As Chief Operating Officer at Roo Partners, Jairo Gomez leads the firm’s operational strategy and execution, overseeing the infrastructure, technology, analytics, marketing, and business operations that support the firm’s continued growth. He works across the organization to translate strategic priorities into action, strengthen operating performance, and build the systems and capabilities required to scale.

Jairo brings more than 15 years of experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives across the United States, Latin America, Europe, and APAC. His background spans business transformation, operational excellence, and business intelligence and analytics, with a consistent focus on building organizations that can sustain growth rather than just achieve it. Throughout his career he has guided teams through significant change, helping companies improve performance and emerge from transformation with stronger operating foundations.

Outside of work, Jairo enjoys cooking for his family and getting lost in a great book.

The geographic reality of finding the next great C-suite leaders

Today, leaders are more geographically dispersed than ever, and far less willing to uproot their lives and families for the next opportunity. Relocation rates have declined drastically, with less than 4% of professionals earning over $200K moving for a new role in 2024, down from 10.6% prior to the 2020s. While surveys by leading consultancies such as IIC Partners suggest that 81% of executives are “open” to relocation in theory, the reality often looks very different. Leaders are increasingly selective, willing to move only for exceptional opportunities with significant incentives.
