Before moving into search, Mak spent ten years as a co-founder and early team member at startups across logistics, aviation, and financial services. That operating experience shapes how he reads a mandate. What growth-stage and PE-backed companies need from leadership is rarely industry-specific, but it is always situation-specific.
He went on to execute retained C-suite and VP-level searches for investors including Hg, Vista Equity Partners, TPG, Blackstone, Thoma Bravo, Silver Lake, and PSG, placing leaders in CRO, CGO, President, COO, and SVP-level roles across their portfolios.
A Philadelphia native and University of Pennsylvania graduate, Mak brings a bias toward clarity early: defining what a business actually needs before a slate is built.
